Cuddly cat: stroke the cat and listen to it purr
Cuddly cat is set in a sunny living room, with light slanting through the window and dust drifting in the air. On a round cushion in the middle, a chubby, fluffy cat lies tucked up like a loaf and looks straight at you. As the recipient strokes its back with a finger, the purring grows louder, the cat narrows its eyes, starts kneading with its front paws and little hearts float up from its head. A heart in the corner fills as they go. It captures that quiet, contented moment every cat person knows.
This one is sent to a cat's owner, for the cat's birthday, the anniversary of its adoption or a kitten who has just joined the family. The card speaks to the recipient, the cat's human, and if you add the cat's name, the headlines call it by name. It's a sweet way to celebrate a friend's new rescue or simply to make a devoted cat lover smile. Send the link by WhatsApp or by copying it; the recipient opens it in their phone's browser with nothing to install.
What does the recipient experience?
- The screen says the sender 'has a surprise for you. It's playtime!' The recipient turns the sound on and taps 'Come in'.
- Their name appears while the cat turns its head, blinks and gives a little trill.
- The recipient strokes the cat's back back and forth with a finger (or the mouse), or uses the 'Hold to pet' button. The purr grows stronger, supported phones vibrate gently, the cat squints and kneads, and the heart in the corner fills. Tapping its nose makes it blink, tapping an ear makes the ear twitch with a meow, and tapping a paw makes it lift the paw.
- When the heart is full, the cat gives a slow blink, closes its eyes happily, tilts its head and meows. A pink envelope slides out from under its front paws onto the rug.
- The envelope opens and a card with a heart rises out of it. For a birthday, a party hat drops onto the cat's head; confetti falls and the sender's message opens on a card.
What can you choose?
The sender enters the name of the recipient (the cat's owner), their own name and an optional message. They pick the coat colour: ginger, grey, black, white or brown. They choose the reason for the celebration: birthday, adoption anniversary or welcome to the family. The cat's name is optional (up to 20 characters); if left blank, the cat is called 'little one'.
When to send it
Cuddly cat belongs to Wishwiff's pet celebration occasion. Send it for a cat's birthday, the anniversary of the day it was adopted, or the first days after a new kitten arrives. All you need to do is run a finger along its back; if that feels like too much, the 'Hold to pet' button fills the heart in a few seconds.
Common questions
Can I touch the cat anywhere?
Stroking counts along the back. Apart from that, quick taps on its nose, ears and front paws each get their own reaction: a blink, an ear twitch, or a raised paw and a meow.
Do I have to give the cat's name?
No. If you do, the headlines use it, as in 'Happy birthday, Luna!'. If you leave it blank, the cat is called 'little one'.
How is Cuddly cat different from Playful pup?
They share the same sunny room, but the ritual differs: you pet the cat until it purrs, while with the pup you throw a ball, and on the third throw it brings you a letter.
