Campfire: sit by the fire for a few minutes

Campfire sits the recipient beside a ring of stones in a dark pine forest. Embers glow in the cracks of the logs, smoke drifts upward, and the bases of the trees catch a flickering orange light. The breathing guide follows the same four-seconds-in, six-seconds-out pace as the other breaks, but here the fire keeps time: the flames stretch taller and warmer as they breathe out, then settle while the embers brighten on the way in. Tapping the screen sends sparks up from that spot, and tapping the fire itself makes it flare for a moment.

Send it to someone who is cold on a winter evening, a friend you used to go camping with, or anyone worn out after a long day. You choose the length and where the fire is burning, then write a short note. Share the link however you like; it opens in their browser without an app.

What does the recipient experience?

  1. The first screen says how many minutes of warm campfire you sent and suggests dimming the lights. They tap "Start the break" and can switch on the optional "Deep sound".
  2. The scene slowly appears: "Let your shoulders drop", then "Let your breath drift into the fire."
  3. The 4-second in, 6-second out cycle begins. The low roar of the fire swells on each out-breath. Written cues show for the first three breaths, then only the ring stays.
  4. A tap anywhere sends up sparks, a tap on the fire makes it flare, and dragging sideways shifts the trees in layers of depth. None of this changes the breathing rhythm.
  5. When time runs out a single chime sounds and "The break is over. These minutes were yours." appears.
  6. Your note opens, and they can answer with ❤️ 🥹 🔥 🙏 or 😌, or tap "Again" to sit by the fire a little longer.

What can you choose?

You set the length from 1 to 5 minutes (2 by default) and choose one of three scenes: forest night, fireplace or snowy camp. The forest has distant crickets and an owl, the fireplace has a stone wall and the soft tick of a clock, and the snowy camp has snow-covered pines, falling snow and wind. You also enter their name, your name and a note, with suggestions available.

When to send it

There is no set date for it; it fits autumn and winter evenings, rainy days and cold snaps especially well. Send it to someone tired from a new job, a friend who lives far away, or the person you shared a real campfire with. It draws you in more with the lights low and headphones on. It is not a medical tool, just a few warm minutes.

Common questions

Do they have to send up sparks?

No, tapping is entirely optional. They can simply watch the fire and finish the whole break without touching the screen.

What does it sound like?

A low fire roar, random crackles and the occasional pop of a log over a warm pad. Sending up sparks adds a short, bright crackle.

Why is the scene so dark?

It is meant to be dim, with most of the light coming from the fire. It looks best in a darker room or with the screen brightness turned up a little.
