Golden Glow: an elegant cake before a sequin curtain
Golden Glow has the feel of an evening reception. The cake sits on polished, gold-veined black marble that fades into darkness at the edges. Behind it hangs a softly rippling curtain of gold sequins, each catching the light in its own rhythm, while golden orbs of light float in the air. The gift box is black with a gold ribbon, and the balloons inside are gold foil, black, champagne and blush. The fondant cake has gold icing dripping from the top tier, a gold leaf band on the bottom one, rings of pearls at the base of each tier, gold dragées along the edge and tall, slim gold-striped candles.
Choose it when you want something grown-up and elegant rather than playful. It suits someone turning 30, 40 or 50, a colleague, a friend with good taste or your partner. You decide the fondant colours, the candles and the message, then send the finished link by WhatsApp or email, ready to open before the evening's first toast.
What does the recipient experience?
- They tap the button on the opening screen and can choose whether to open with the microphone.
- The black box with its gold ribbon shakes three times and opens; the lid flies off, gold and champagne balloons rise and then their name appears.
- The fondant cake lands on the marble on its gold stand and the slim candles light one by one. The lights dim, they make a wish and tap the button.
- They blow into the phone or hold the button to put the candles out, each one trailing a thin line of smoke.
- The celebration begins: the curtain's sequins sparkle more than ever, confetti fires from the corners, streamers fall, fireworks burst and the birthday song plays.
- Your message card appears. They can reply with ❤️, 🥹, 🎉, 🙏 or 😘, or tap 'Replay' to watch again.
What can you choose?
The cake has two fondant tiers, each in one of four colours: ivory, black, blush or champagne. The gold drip and gold decorations stay the same whatever you choose, so a black bottom tier with an ivory top makes a striking contrast. Set the candles as a number from 1 to 9 or as their age in number candles. Both names and your message appear on the card at the end.
When to send it
For birthdays, and especially milestone ones like 30, 40 or 50, or for more formal relationships where bright balloons would feel out of place, such as a manager or a colleague. The microphone isn't required to put the candles out; if they'd rather not allow it, they simply hold a button. The scene is dark, so it looks best with the screen brightness turned up a little.
Common questions
What sets Golden Glow apart from the other birthday cakes?
It is the formal one: black marble, a gold sequin curtain and a black, gold and ivory palette. The cake is covered in fondant and decorated with pearls, gold leaf and dragées, and the curtain sparkles harder during the celebration.
Can I change the colour of the gold icing?
No. In this template you only choose the fondant colour; the drip and decorations are always gold, which keeps the black-and-gold look whatever you pick.
Does this cake support number candles?
Yes. Choose 'Age' and type a number, and the slim candles are replaced with digits of that age, which they blow out the same way.
