Vivid Party: a birthday full of colour and confetti

Vivid Party is loud in the nicest way. The background is a dark navy with soft, blurry orbs of light drifting across it, and everything else is saturated: fuchsia, teal, purple, orange and sunny yellow. When the gift box opens, seven glossy balloons rise out, two of them clear and filled with confetti. The cake stands on a gold pedestal plate ringed with big sugar balls, with piped cream peaks along each tier, gold stars and sprinkles on the sides and confetti scattered around the base. The steps match Night Cake, but the look is pure party.

It suits someone with a lot of energy, a group surprise from a circle of friends, or the friend you have celebrated with since childhood. The bright palette also works well for kids and teenagers, or for anyone whose party you couldn't make in person. While setting it up you pick the tier colours, the candles and a short note, then share the link in whichever chat app you use.

What does the recipient experience?

  1. They see an 'Open your gift' button; if the browser needs to ask, they can choose to open with or without the microphone.
  2. The gift box shakes three times and bursts open: the lid flies, beams of light shoot up and seven bright balloons float out. Their name is then spelled out in large letters.
  3. The colourful cake spins in on its gold stand, the candles light in turn and the room goes dark. They make a wish and tap 'I made my wish'.
  4. They blow at the phone to put the candles out, the flames leaning with their breath. If they skipped the microphone, they hold down a button instead.
  5. The screen flashes: confetti cannons go off from both corners, streamers fall, balloons drift up from below, fireworks burst and the birthday song begins.
  6. The message card opens. They can say thanks with ❤️, 🥹, 🎉, 🙏 or 😘, or play the celebration again.

What can you choose?

Both the bottom and top tier come in four vivid colours: teal, fuchsia pink, purple and orange. Keep them matching or mix them, say a teal base with an orange top. Choose 1 to 9 candles, or enter their age for number candles. As always, their name, your name and your message go on the card.

When to send it

Built for birthdays, and best when you want it to feel like a celebration: when you couldn't make it to the party, when you want to be first in a busy group chat, or when the birthday person is a child or teenager. The microphone is recommended for the candles but not needed, since a hold button does the same job. Fireworks and the song make it more fun with the sound on.

Common questions

How is Vivid Party different from Night Cake?

The steps are identical; the look is not. Vivid Party has drifting light orbs on navy, saturated colours, seven balloons (two clear ones full of confetti) and a cake on a gold stand with stars and sugar balls. Night Cake is calmer, with a starry violet sky and pastel tones.

Does the tier colour change the icing too?

Yes. When you choose the tiers separately, the icing dripping over each tier is a lighter shade of that tier's colour, so the colour you picked stays clearly visible.

How do they blow out the candles on a computer?

Blowing works on a computer too if they allow the microphone. Without one, holding the button down with the mouse is enough.
