- On an adoption anniversary, bring up the day they found each other, like the first meeting at the shelter or the spot where the pet hid on its first night home. Keep the focus on the life they share now rather than a hard past.
- When someone brings a new pet home, wish them patience and good company. Skip the unsolicited advice on food or training; offering to pet-sit when they travel is far more useful.

When do you celebrate a pet whose birthday nobody knows?
Many pets from shelters or the street arrive without a known birth date. Plenty of owners celebrate the day the pet came home instead, and some simply choose a birthday for them.
What can I send someone whose pet has died?
This playful scene isn't the right fit for a loss. A few plain sentences that use the pet's name and recall the good years they shared usually say enough. What can I choose when I set up Playtime?

I don't know the pet's name. Can I still send one?
Yes, the name is optional. Leave it empty and the celebration calls them "little one"; if you add a name, it can be up to 20 characters.
